NEWS THIS MORNING

How you like me now?!

The economy added a robust 250,000 jobs in October. Oh and: The unemployment rate remained at 3.7 percent, the lowest level since December 1969. Keep in mind: These strong numbers could help President Trump and Republicans on Election Day. http://bit.ly/2zrHzfg

Only diamonds are forever:

Via The Hill's Rebecca Kheel, the Trump administration is planning to reinstate the sanctions that were lifted under the Iran nuclear deal in 2015. From Secretary of State Mike Pompeo" "This part of the campaign about which we're speaking today is simple: It is aimed at depriving the regime of the revenues that it uses to spread death and destruction around the world." http://bit.ly/2CToXs9

JUST NOW FROM TRUMP -- 'YOU KNOW NOTHING, ROUHANI!':

Happy Friday. I'm Cate Martel with a quick recap of the morning and what's coming up. Send comments, story ideas and events for our radar to cmartel@thehill.com,@CateMartel and on Facebook.

FROM THE WHITE HOUSE

When it's four days until the midterms and you have a one-track mind:

During last night's campaign rally in Missouri, President Trump blamed the Pittsburgh shooting suspect and the man accused of sending pipe bombs to Democrats of halting the GOP's momentum. http://bit.ly/2DhMWSM

In Trump's words: "We did have two maniacs stop a momentum that was incredible, because for seven days nobody talked about the elections. It stopped a tremendous momentum. ... More importantly, we have to take care of our people, and we don't care about momentum when it comes to a disgrace like just happened to our country. But it did nevertheless stop a certain momentum, and now the momentum is picking up."

TO SPICE UP YOUR FRIDAY:

Here's video of Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) dancing to Pharrell Williams's "Happy." http://bit.ly/2zmh2A4

A contender for Nikki Haley's replacement:

President Trump said State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert is being seriously considered to replace Nikki Haley as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

In Trump's words: "She's been a supporter for a long time and she's really excellent. We'll probably make a decision next week. We have a lot of people who want the job and there are a lot of really great people, but we'll be talking about that next week sometime." http://bit.ly/2yKRm0n

FROM THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

What, you thought politics was a team sport?! Ha. Haha!:

Via The Hill's Alexander Bolton, "Democrats in tough Senate races around the country are throwing their party under the bus as they seek to pull out victories in red states won just two years ago by President Trump."

For example: Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) has been airing a radio ad declaring she's "not one of those crazy Democrats." And Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) told The Hill that Democrats "botched" the debate over Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

More examples -- there are LOTS: http://bit.ly/2SFzv3C

EH, BUT IT'S NOT JUST A ONE-PARTY PROBLEM:

Via The Hill's Melanie Zanona, Republican infighting has spilled into public view just a few days before the midterms. How so: http://bit.ly/2DiAdPx

What to know about the battle for the Senate:

The situation for Democrats: "Democrats are playing defense in 10 states that Trump carried in 2016, and where he remains popular. They'll need to run the table -- flipping two GOP seats and holding on to their own vulnerable incumbents -- if they want to win the Senate."

If they lose even one seat they are defending, they would have to win in three of their four potential pick up opportunities: Nevada, Arizona, Tennessee and Texas.

The situation for Republicans: Republicans have only one vulnerable incumbent, Sen. Dean Heller (Nev.), the only GOP senator running in a state that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton won in 2016.

Who has a better chance of controlling the Senate: Republicans.

But why Republicans shouldn't be extremely confident: "Even with a promising GOP map, Doug Heye, a strategist and former spokesman for the Republican National Committee, said the battle for the Senate wasn't likely to feature many 'blowouts anyways,' meaning several races may very well be decided in the remaining days."

More on how this could play out from The Hill's Jordain Carney and Lisa Hagen: http://bit.ly/2EXJle5

AND MEANWHILE IN THE HOUSE:

Here are the top 10 House seats most likely to flip: http://bit.ly/2EZLgPu

FASCINATING MAP:

Bloomberg analyzed more than three million election ads to see the most-mentioned issues in each state. The map: https://bloom.bg/2Ol4oqk

LATEST WITH THE IMMIGRANT CARAVAN

What we know about the migrants:

This morning, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said the majority of migrants traveling to the U.S. are victims of violence. In her words: "We have about 30 percent of women who take that journey are sexually abused, 17 percent of men. Seventy percent of the migrants are victims of violence." http://bit.ly/2zqYH58

Why this is noteworthy: Trump has been describing people in the migrant caravan as a serious security threat to the United States.

Trump weighs in on the security of the caravan on the border:

President Trump described possible military action on the southern border if migrants act with violence. In Trump's words: "They want to throw rocks at our military, our military fights back. I told them, consider it a rifle." Watch Trump's description: http://bit.ly/2qpkgP6
