Robert Mueller indicts 12 Russians: |
Special counsel Robert Mueller has indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers in the hacking of the Democratic National Committee. http://bit.ly/2zI6RJM Timing: The indictments come just two days before President Trump’s highly anticipated summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. How we know: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein just held a press conference about the indictments. The announcement: “The announcement Friday followed much the same form as the one five months ago in which Rosenstein revealed that Mueller had indicted 13 Russians on fraud charges who allegedly engaged in an elaborate plot to interfere in the presidential election.” Read the actual indictment: http://bit.ly/2JpE8su Livestream of the press conference: http://bit.ly/2L3zFRp Tidbit — well this is awkward: The Hill’s Ben Kamisar tweeted before the announcement: “An embargo is only good if people aren't live-streaming the press room as reporters read aloud what's about to go down with the Rosenstein presser......” Then a few minutes later, he added: “THE EMBARGO IS LIFTED, DOJ says after realizing what happened. Whups...” http://bit.ly/2uv3Gix |
