3 DAYS TO AVERT ANOTHER SHUTDOWN

You can have your wall and build it, too:

It is increasingly likely that President Trump will sign the bipartisan bill to fund the government and avert another partial shutdown. http://bit.ly/2WX3Tse

OK, but what about the wall...?: "The president's surrogates have given indications that Trump will sign off on the bill to keep the government open and secure wall funding through other means to build his long-desired wall along the U.S.-Mexico border."

Keep in mind: It is entirely possible that Trump pulls a last-minute surprise.

New detail -- When the House is expected to vote on the deal: Thursday evening. http://bit.ly/2S0q5xN

When the actual spending package will be released: Tonight. http://bit.ly/2X2hKNO

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE DEAL SO FAR:

We know it includes $1.375 billion to build 55 miles of barriers along the border in the Rio Grande Valley. A list of what else we know about the bipartisan agreement: http://bit.ly/2GpQKmB

WHY TRUMP WILL LIKELY SIGN THE BILL:

Via The Hill's Niall Stanage, sources in the circle around Trump affirmed that there was little appetite, on the part of the president or his party, for another shutdown, which would begin at midnight on Friday absent a new spending measure. http://bit.ly/2TOorkC

Trump tweeted last night: "Was just presented the concept and parameters of the Border Security Deal by hard working Senator Richard Shelby. Looking over all aspects knowing that this will be hooked up with lots of money from other sources. Will be getting almost $23 BILLION for Border Security. Regardless of Wall money, it is being built as we speak!" http://bit.ly/2TOoahA

JUST NOW — BEFORE YOU GET TOO EXCITED...:

The two top Republican House leaders won't commit to supporting the bipartisan government funding deal. Who: House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.)  http://bit.ly/2GnGc7j

TIDBIT FROM THE LAST SHUTDOWN:

IN CONGRESS

Let's put it to a vote!:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said the Senate will vote on the "Green New Deal," a climate change resolution led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.). Details: http://bit.ly/2GGTFX6

Keep in mind: The deal has no chance of passing. Republicans are united in their opposition to the bill. The bill needs 51 votes to pass, and Republicans control 53 votes.

HOW PELOSI'S LEADERSHIP IS ABOUT TO BE PUT TO THE TEST:

http://bit.ly/2SOU2Wf

To veto or not to veto -- that is the question:

Via The Hill's Rebecca KheelPresident Trump has not vetoed any bills since taking office, but may do so soon. Why: "The House will move a step closer to a major confrontation with Trump by voting as soon as Wednesday on a resolution that would cut off U.S. military support to the Saudi-led coalition in neighboring Yemen. The measure is expected to easily pass the chamber controlled by Democrats. After that, it will move to the GOP-led Senate, where is it also expected to have enough votes." http://bit.ly/2By8iJa

When you can watch a fight over Twitter:

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) shot back at President Trump this morning after the president called on her to resign. http://bit.ly/2GoFGpG

She tweeted: "Hi @realDonaldTrump- You have trafficked in hate your whole life--against Jews, Muslims, Indigenous, immigrants, black people and more. I learned from people impacted by my words. When will you?"

What sparked this: "Freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar 'unequivocally' apologized Monday for tweets suggesting that members of Congress support Israel because they are being paid to do so, which drew bipartisan criticism and a rebuke from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi." http://bit.ly/2GDaC4K

IN OTHER NEWS

Can confirm, this was just as D.C. as it sounds:

"At the bar just now: Apparently it's open mic night. Singer says 'This is a song I wrote about the shutdown.' ... The chorus is 'Shutdown. Shutdown. Shutdown.'" (Via The Hill's Peter Sullivan)  http://bit.ly/2N4l06Z
