The Memo: Trump can turn page on book storm
For all the fire and the fury ignited in Washington this week by Michael Wolff’s book of the same name, the political landscape has been little changed.

The charges in the book, including the explosive detail that former chief strategist Stephen Bannon considered a June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower “treasonous,” dominated political discussion. 

But the Trump White House has spent much of its lifetime enmeshed in controversies just as dramatic, and in some ways more substantive, than this.

House GOP intensifies assault on Mueller probe
House Republicans are intensifying a multi-pronged assault to chip away at special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the U.S. election.

A vocal group of conservative members has for weeks blitzed the airwaves decrying bias in Mueller’s investigation and on Thursday, two prominent members called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down from the Justice Department — a resignation that could clear the way for the special counsel’s dismissal.

Trump on questions about mental stability: I'm ‘a very stable genius’
President Trump on Saturday attacked Democrats and media for questioning whether he is mentally fit for office, saying his ability to win the presidency on the first try shows that he is “not smart, but genius....and a very stable genius at that!”

Trump said in a series of tweets that his “two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart.”
