Ryan to announce he won't seek reelection: sources
Speaker Paul Ryan will announce on Wednesday that he plans to retire at the end of his term, sources told The Hill.

Rumors have been swirling for months that the Wisconsin Republican — who is serving in his second year in the Speaker’s office — was considering retiring.

The move could strike a blow to GOP fundraising efforts as they gear up for a contentious midterm election season.

The 10 Senate seats most likely to flip in 2018
Republicans are increasingly focused on the Senate as GOP donors and strategists grow more pessimistic about their ability to hold onto the House.

The prospect of a Democratic House has made Republicans desperate to take advantage of a favorable Senate map to hold or expand their majority in the upper chamber.

Republicans still have a strong chance of gaining seats, with 10 Democrats up in states President Trump won in 2016. But while the GOP is mostly on the offensive, the party also faces the prospect of losing some seats.

Trump: 'Get ready Russia,' missiles will be headed to Syria
President Trump in an early morning tweet on Wednesday warned Moscow that "nice and new and 'smart'" missiles would be headed to Syria, saying "Get ready Russia." 

"Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and 'smart!'" he said. 

"You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!" the president added.
