OPINION | The GOP’s House Intelligence Committee report acknowledging Russian meddling in our elections but no collusion by the Trump campaign is like any bad crime fiction. Clapper’s actions sure do look like political manipulations
By Jonathan Turley
OPINION | The stunning Panmunjom Declaration announcement by the leaders of South Korea and North Korea is sweeping and potentially strongly in the American interest. The three-page declaration is quite vague and open to multiple interpretations, but the United States should use the most favorable interpretation going into the summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un next month.

A Leap of Failure

By Tzvi Freeman

Everything in life is a step forward; everything has meaning. It's just that there are two ways to move forward: Walking and leaping.

When you walk, you leave one foot in its place as the other moves ahead. You're secure, you're stable—and you never leave your comfort zone.

So sometimes you need to leap. But to do that, you need to first crouch down.

That's the true meaning of failure: It is the crouch before the jump, the breakaway from the past so that you can leap into the future, an opportunity to do something totally unexpected.

Failure lets you go where your footsteps could never take you.

Historic Korean summit sets high bar for Trump
Bitter foes for more than six decades, North and South Korea agreed Friday to “denuclearize” the Korean peninsula — but the hard part is being left to President Trump.

Trump touted the inter-Korea summit on Twitter, saying that “good things are happening” but that “only time will tell.”

“KOREAN WAR TO END! The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!” he wrote in a second tweet.

But the declaration from South Korean president Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had no details on how denuclearization will be achieved, leaving it to Trump to negotiate the finer points of an agreement when he meets with Kim in May or June.

The Memo: Korean thaw gives Trump a big boost
The historic meeting between the leaders of North Korea and South Korea is forcing critics of President Trump to acknowledge that his much-derided strategy might be bearing fruit.

Trump’s approach to North Korea, including his famous derision of Kim Jong Un as “Little Rocket Man” and his talk about the size of his nuclear button, elicited a combination of fear and mockery from foreign policy experts and other elite voices. So too did his threat, during a United Nations speech last September, to “totally destroy” North Korea.

But the positive mood-music from the dramatic meeting between Kim and his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-In, as well as the ongoing plans for a Trump-Kim summit, are winning praise from unexpected quarters.
