The ULTIMATE example of 'Stop, Dad. You're embarrassing me!': |
President Trump confirmed that his son Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with Russians was meant to gather information on Hillary Clinton. http://bit.ly/2vEMgAF Why Trump brought it up: To push back against reporting that his son may be implicated in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. The full report from CNN's Jake Tapper and Kaitlan Collins: https://cnn.it/2vov42R What Trump tweeted: "Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics -- and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!" http://bit.ly/2vlIU6l Why this admission is awkward: Trump's tweet directly contrasts what his son said about the intentions of the meeting. I.e.: Trump just contradicted his son's defense. What Donald Trump Jr. had claimed about the Russian meeting: "We primarily discussed a program about the adoption of Russian children that was active and popular with American families years ago," read a statement last year by Trump Jr., which was dictated by the president. Facebook takes down four Alex Jones pages: |
Via The Hill's Harper Neidig, Facebook has deleted four pages belonging to controversial right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. The move comes after Facebook last week took down some videos that violated their content policies. Facebook also banned him from the platform for 30 days. http://bit.ly/2ALNP5y Facebook's reasoning: "Since then, more content from the same Pages has been reported to us -- upon review, we have taken it down for glorifying violence, which violates our graphic violence policy, and using dehumanizing language to describe people who are transgender, Muslims and immigrants, which violates our hate speech policies," Facebook posted. Read the full blog post: http://bit.ly/2ANvDIQ What sparked this: Mounting pressure from critics to ban InfoWars. Apple, YouTube and Spotify have also banned Jones. Keep in mind: Jones can appeal Facebook's decision. Just now: |

Who runs the world? Girls!: |
--> http://bit.ly/2M0NO2d Via The Hill's Mike Lillis, "If Democrats win the House in November, 35 women are poised to lead committees and subcommittees in the next Congress -- an historically high figure that would put female lawmakers in the driver's seat for some of the most pressing issues facing Congress and the country." How that compares: "That number would almost triple the amount of GOP women currently holding similar positions." http://bit.ly/2vG8PVz |

MEANWHILE IN 2020 TALK: |
Early polls are favoring former Vice President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination. Yeah, but: "...in his old stomping grounds in the U.S. Senate, there are plenty of skeptics who point to the former vice president's age, his support for the Iraq War and his two failed presidential bids as reasons to doubt he would be successful." LOL, THERE HAVE BEEN SOME PRETTY FUNNY MOVIEPASS TWEETS: |
I like to imagine that #Moviepass was secretly an anti-capitalist exercise in transferring the wealth from gullible Venture Capitalists to the 99% in the form of unlimited movie ticket subsidies." http://bit.ly/2MpGdHs Read their profit and loss statement: http://bit.ly/2OKuO6p |
