Haley resigns in big surprise, saying she wants to 'take a break'
Nikki Haley on Tuesday resigned as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a surprising departure that deprives President Trump's foreign policy team of one of its most well-known and outspoken figures.

Haley, a former South Carolina governor and rising Republican star, was a forceful voice in pushing Trump's agenda at the U.N., but has also been unafraid to break with the president at key moments.

Sitting with Haley in the Oval Office, Trump announced she would leave at the end of the year and said she wanted to “take a break” from public service. Trump added that Haley let him know of her intentions six months ago.

Nikki Haley resigns as UN ambassador: reports
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has resigned from her role in the Trump administration, according to multiple reports. 

"Big announcement with my friend Ambassador Nikki Haley in the Oval Office at 10:30am," President Trump tweeted.

Susan Collins becomes top 2020 target for Dems
Sen. Susan Collins is now a top target for Democrats in 2020.

The Maine Republican shot up the list over the weekend after providing her GOP colleagues the crucial 50th vote needed to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

In an increasingly partisan chamber, Collins has consistently been ranked as one of the Senate’s most moderate members. But her decision to support Kavanaugh outraged a coalition of progressives, activists and even some supporters who spent months urging her to vote against President Trump’s nominee.
