Democrat Kelly narrowly beats Kobach in Kansas gubernatorial race
Democratic state Senator Laura Kelly defeated Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach in the state's closely watched gubernatorial race.

The race was one of the tightest in the country, with polls consistently showing a virtual dead heat between the two candidates. Nonpartisan elections forecaster, The Cook Political Report, rated the contest as a “toss up.”

Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell defeated Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) on Tuesday, delivering her party a key win and ousting one of the GOP's most vulnerable incumbents.

Manchin keeps Senate seat in West Virginia
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) won reelection on Tuesday night, rebuffing his state’s growing shift to the right.

Manchin defeated West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey (R), two years after President Trump won the state by more than 42 percentage points.
