President Trump on Thursday accused Democrats of trying to force a government shutdown to stunt Republicans’ momentum from their victory on taxes.
“House Democrats want a SHUTDOWN for the holidays in order to distract from the very popular, just passed, Tax Cuts. House Republicans, don’t let this happen,” Trump tweeted.
Hillary Clinton has all but avoided appearing at campaign events since her stunning 2016 loss, but some Democrats believe she would be a welcome voice in the 2018 midterms.
