Apply within.':   Who will ~not~ be the next chief of staff: 36-year-old Nick Ayers. Ayers is Vice President Pence's chief of staff and was seen as the natural replacement for Kelly, but opted to move to an external job at a pro-Trump super PAC. According to The New York Times's Maggie Haberman, an announcement for Ayers replacing Kelly was even drafted. https://nyti.ms/2QJ8yh8   Possible replacements: Axios is reporting that Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, is a top contender.
