BREAKING THIS A.M.

Bad day for unions:

Via The Hill's Lydia Wheeler, the Supreme Court dealt a blow to public unions this morning, ruling that public-sector unions for state and local employees can't force nonmembers to pay a "fair-share" union fee. The ruling: 5-4. Keep in mind: "The court's newest member, Justice Neil Gorsuch, likely cast the deciding vote in the dispute, which deadlocked the justices in a 4-4 split in a similar case in 2016 following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia." http://bit.ly/2IuLfQ8

Happy Hump Day! I'm Cate Martel with a quick recap of the morning and what's coming up. Send comments, story ideas and events for our radar to cmartel@thehill.com, @CateMartel and on Facebook.

PROGRAMMING NOTE:

The 12:30 Report will be off tomorrow and Friday for a long weekend. We'll be back on Monday. Enjoy the weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't do! ;)

FROM THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Talk of the morning -- a 28-year-old #FeelTheBern millennial defeats the House Democratic Caucus chair:

Via The Hill's Lisa Hagen, longtime Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) has lost his primary to 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a former organizer for Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) presidential campaign. Why this is big: Crowley is the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus and has been viewed as a potential Speaker of the House. Keep in mind: The loss was a shocker. This is the first time in 14 years that Crowley even had a primary challenger. http://bit.ly/2yM5RDB

How Crowley reacted to the news -- he played his guitar: Crowley took the stage at his election night watch party and performed Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." Clip of his performance: http://bit.ly/2twb51y

Some context on why this upset is so stunning: "It happened in NYC, a culturally liberal city with a rigid, wildly out-of-date political structure & laws that discourage competition & voting." (From The New York Times's Alexander Burnshttp://bit.ly/2yPnpyY

Throwback: "The Joe Crowley moment I'll never forget is him shouting over the din of floor as the first bailout vote tanked... along with the markets." (From The New York Times's Glenn Thrushhttp://bit.ly/2tzZ9M3

JUST NOW -- Pelosi tries to comfort worried Dems: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the progressive candidate's win shouldn't be viewed as something larger in the Democratic Party. She told reporters: "They made a choice in one district. So let's not get yourself carried away as an expert on demographics and the rest of that. Within the caucus or outside the caucus, we are ... again, we have an array of genders, generations, geography, and there is opinion in our caucus, and we're proud of that." http://bit.ly/2KpOOfu

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS FROM LAST NIGHT'S PRIMARIES:

Making history: Three LGBT candidates have won the nomination for governor this year. That's the first time in history that more than one LGBT candidate has won a nomination in a cycle. http://bit.ly/2KmaKIe

M-I-T-T, Mitt, Mitt, Mitt: Former presidential nominee Mitt Romney is projected to win the GOP senate nomination in Utah. Which seat: To replace retiring GOP Sen. Orrin Hatchhttp://bit.ly/2tFza5b

Actual footage of Mitt Romney's reaction: http://bit.ly/2KdwEyg ;)

FROM THE WHITE HOUSE

Just announced -- we have a date and a venue:

Via The Hill's Jordan Fabian, the White House and the Kremlin have agreed to a time and place for a summit with President Trump and Russian President Vladimir PutinHow we know: The Russia government made the announcement. SoOoo, what are the meeting details?: The details will likely be announced Thursday, but the summit will happen next month. http://bit.ly/2KcalZD

*Cue quiet, New York, heavy-smoker, Hollywood-mafia-type voice* -- 'I'll give you protection':

Via CNN's Elizabeth Landers and Jim Acosta, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be given Secret Service protection starting today, though it's unclear for how long. Why: The news comes after Sanders was kicked out of a restaurant in Virginia. It sparked national attention on the criticism and protests being directed at those working for the Trump administration. https://cnn.it/2Ix4cBs

I have the perfect sweatshirt for Melania Trump to wear this time!

--> http://bit.ly/2lDGcE1 ;)

First lady Melania Trump is expected to make another visit to child detention centers on the U.S.-Mexico border. When and where?: Those details haven't been released yet. http://bit.ly/2KnpGWt

BACK STORY:

Reunited and it feels so good:

A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to reunite immigrant families who were separated on the U.S.-Mexico border. Timing for children under the age of 5: They must be reunited within two weeks. Timing for children between the ages of 5 and 17: They must be reunited within 30 days. In the meantime: The judge said all parents must be able to speak with their children within the next 10 days. http://bit.ly/2MvapAC

NEW TIDBIT -- IVANKA DONATES:

Ivanka Trump made a personal donation of $50,000 to a Texas megachurch that is caring for migrant children separated from their families. Details: http://bit.ly/2tHJ4mJ

FROM CAPITOL HILL

Happening at 1:30 p.m. -- finally, the immigration vote:

House Republicans are scheduled to vote on an immigration bill. Which bill is this: The compromise between conservatives and centrists. Is it expected to pass?: Lol, that's very unlikely. What we're watching: Will this bill get more votes or fewer votes than the conservative immigration bill last week? https://cnn.it/2lFi2cc

THIS A.M. -- I'M NOT YELLING. I'M JUST REALLY EXCITED AND LIKE USING ALL CAPS:

President Trump, who has been back and forth on whether he supports this compromise immigration bill, tweeted, "HOUSE REPUBLICANS SHOULD PASS THE STRONG BUT FAIR IMMIGRATION BILL, KNOWN AS GOODLATTE II, IN THEIR AFTERNOON VOTE TODAY, EVEN THOUGH THE DEMS WON'T LET IT PASS IN THE SENATE. PASSAGE WILL SHOW THAT WE WANT STRONG BORDERS & SECURITY WHILE THE DEMS WANT OPEN BORDERS = CRIME. WIN!" https://wapo.st/2N0zHHE

IN OTHER NEWS

Hold on, let me practice my 'I'm so surprised' face:

--> http://bit.ly/2N2q6Qw

Satellite images show North Korea upgrading its nuclear research facility. Timing: This development comes weeks after President Trump and North Korea's Kim Jong Un signed an agreement that called for the country's denuclearization. What upgrades: "The improvements include a new cooling water pump house, multiple new buildings, completed construction on a cooling water reservoir and an apparently active radiochemical laboratory. It is unclear whether the reactor is still in operation, the report said." http://bit.ly/2Mr13FL
