| Mr. Manafort going to prison ahead of trial: |
| 
President Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sent to jail until his trial on charges of witness tampering. This morning: Manafort had to appear in court to decide whether he can remain on house arrest or go to jail. Trump: Deal with it, China: |
| President Trump announced that the United States would impose tariffs on $50 billion in Chinese products. This sound familiar?: It should. Trump has been threatening this for months. Keep in mind: This move is expected to ramp up tensions with China, and China is a key partner in denuclearizing North Korea. http://bit.ly/2tbn1ot What the tariffs include: Products in "industries such as aerospace, information and communications technology, robotics, industrial machinery, new materials and automobiles." What the tariffs don't include: Popular goods purchased by U.S. consumers such as cellphones or televisions, he said. When the tariffs will start: The first round of tariffs -- on 818 products -- will start on July 6. What to expect from China: Chinese officials had threatened tariffs on U.S. products if President Trump followed through with the tariffs. |

| The China's Ministry of Commerce released a highly critical statement. "This move is not only damaging bilateral interests but also undermining the world trade order," the statement said. "China firmly opposes this." China's next steps: "We will immediately introduce taxation measures of the same scale and strength.
