NEWS OF THE MORNING

Get used to this photo shoot. You're going to see these photos on every U.S./North Korea article for a long, long time.

Watch out -- Justin Trudeau is going to be jealous of the bromance:

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed an agreement to give North Korea unspecified "security guarantees" if the peninsula denuclearizes. http://bit.ly/2JvHi2R

NEWS FROM THE SUMMIT:

Trump on the chances Kim follows through: "I may be wrong. I mean, I may stand before you in six months and say, 'Hey, I was wrong,'" said Trump, before adding, "I don't know that I'll ever admit that, but I'll find some kind of an excuse." Watch: http://bit.ly/2l8JXBb

What this means for the U.S. military: Nothing yet. A U.S. military spokeswoman said that troops on the Korean peninsula have not received any updated guidance on ending training exercises with South Korea. http://bit.ly/2MhRvh3

What this means for South Korea: Stay tuned -- they're curious about that, too. "At this point, we need to find out the precise meaning or intentions of President Trump's remarks," a South Korean spokesperson said. http://bit.ly/2MjnTzX

It's Tuesday. Filing from downtown D.C. with SWARMS of Caps fans, I'm Cate Martel with a quick recap of the morning and what's coming up. Send comments, story ideas and Trump/Kim puns to cmartel@thehill.com@CateMartel and on Facebook.

COMPLIMENTS TRUMP GAVE KIM -- THESE ARE GETTING TRACTION:

Trump on Kim's personality: "Really, he's got a great personality. He's a funny guy, he's very smart, he's a great negotiator." http://bit.ly/2JP8d9k

You're beautiful. No, youuu're beautiful: President Trump called Kim "a very worthy, very smart negotiator" and vowed to meet with him "many times." http://bit.ly/2JwF3fQ

North Koreans, they love the guy: President Trump said the people of North Korea "love" leader Kim Jong UnWhy this is noteworthy: Trump has recently criticized Kim's oppressive regime that's been accused of multiple human rights abuses. Watch the back and forth from ABC's George Stephanopoulos: http://bit.ly/2MikIse

So much praise: Trump called Kim a "very talented man" who "loves his country very much." http://bit.ly/2JwF3fQ

Trump invites Kim to D.C.: When asked whether Trump would invite Kim to the White House, he said: "Absolutely, I will." http://bit.ly/2Jy4c9W

REACTIONS TO THE SUMMIT:

From House Speaker Paul Ryan: Ryan (R-Wis.) said, "Only time will tell if North Korea is serious this time, and in the meantime we must continue to apply maximum economic pressure." https://wapo.st/2y5kj9y

From Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell: McConnell (R-Ky.) called it a historic step, but was cautious. "Today is the beginning of the arduous process. Our eyes are wide open. I support the goals contained in the statement and I remain supportive of the administration's mission." http://bit.ly/2l5uHoB

From Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer: Schumer (D-N.Y.) slammed the meeting. "It is worrisome, very worrisome that this joint statement is so imprecise. What the U.S. has gained is vague and unverifiable at best. What North Korea has gained, however, is tangible and lasting ... We've legitimized a brutal dictator who's starved his own people." http://bit.ly/2LI04ko

From House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi: Pelosi (D-Calif.) released a scathing statement. "In his haste to reach an agreement, President Trump elevated North Korea to the level of the United States while preserving the regime's status quo," she said. http://bit.ly/2y3TgLF

From Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) -- 'total weirdo': "While I know [President Trump] is trying to butter him up to get a good deal, [Kim Jong Un] is NOT a talented guy. He inherited the family business from his dad & grandfather. He is a total weirdo who would not be elected assistant dog catcher in any democracy." http://bit.ly/2l664bp

From Fox's Brit Hume: "Disconcerting to say the least to see POTUS shaking hands with the thug Kim Jong Un and saying he's 'honored.' Will only be worth it if Mike Pompeo is right about what he sensed in his NK meetings. We'll know soon enough," Hume tweeted. http://bit.ly/2t2Cwi7

From CNN's Jake Tapper: "It's not as if other presidents couldn't have done this," Tapper said of Trump's meeting with Kim. "It's that they didn't want to." Tapper's reasoning: Other leaders haven't met with Kim to avoid giving the dictatorship "prestige." http://bit.ly/2MiDqjs

Iran weighs in -- a little salty: Iran warned Kim that Trump could still scrap the agreement. From an Iran spokesman: "We don't know what type of person the North Korean leader is negotiating with. It is not clear that he would not cancel the agreement before returning home." https://reut.rs/2HGNgs5

From an Obama official: "I was a little taken aback by the North Korean flags and the American flags side by side ... We aren't equals to each other," said Wendy Sherman, a former undersecretary of State for political affairs. http://bit.ly/2t2OrN0

The most bizarre interview of the day -- it's just a big day for Dennis Rodman, that's all: NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman gave an emotional, awkward TV interview reacting to the summit. Just watch it -- you'll see what I mean: http://bit.ly/2l5VXD6

From former CIA North Korea analyst Soo Kim: "Fantastic, indeed." http://bit.ly/2HEXhG9

SIGHTS AND SOUNDS:

Hm. Definitely an idea...: Comedian Tim Young tweeted, "RETWEET if you think Dennis Rodman should be the first U.S. Ambassador to North Korea." http://bit.ly/2JBr7x6
